One Pager
A one-pager is a written and graphic interpretation of a single sheet of paper of what you have read. It may be literal or it may be a symbolic representation of the piece. The One-pager will help you visualize what you are reading and help you further understand what you have read.
Guidelines:
- Use Standard (8.5x11) unlined paper
- Fill the entire page
- Written work must be in ink or typed, not pencil
- Use color as much as possible
- Include ALL of the following, arranged in any way that you choose:
- Title and author
- Three or more excerpts from the passage, what are the most important
- A personal response to each passage you selected
- One or more graphic representations (illustrations, magazine pictures or computer-generated graphics that are related to the passage/s that you selected
- Add a border or other decorations and you are done.
- Make sure your first and last name are on the front in a corner

The Power of Persuasion
Together we will identify elements of persuasion, and analyze articles for these elements. We will then identify our own point of view of the issue, and create our argument for our persuasive essay. The essay will include in-text citations, MLA formatting, a citations page, as well as a new format for our paragraphs utilizing "say mean matter". This will be an electronic submission of the essay, with more details to follow.

Each week you will be assigned a reading log to complete while reading your AR book. These will not only ensure that you are reading 30 minutes each night, but that you are comprehending what you are reading as well as help you pass the AR tests.
Each week a different log will be assigned, and you will not know which one until that Monday. These are being provided for you here, in case you should lose your reading log after it has been provided to you for the week.
