CDE has just posted a new comprehensive online resource, Parent Guides to the Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments, Grades 3 - 5, Grades 6-8, Grade 11. These will be of great help in working with our families. A similar set of guides for teachers are expected within the coming months.
The Parent Guides provide subject by subject, grade by grade sample Smarter Balanced assessment questions. The sample items explain the academic standards being addressed and clearly note within the examples the kinds of questions students must answer correctly to reach each achievement level.
