Gobble Give

Everyone seems to be excited for the holidays that are quickly approaching. However, there are some families in the valley that were unable to provide a Thanksgiving dinner for their family. Thanks to Diamond Valley Middle School’s ASB Advisor, Stacy Ciampa, fifteen families didn’t have to worry about that this year.

This is the third year Diamond Valley students have participated in the Gobble Give. Ciampa asked students to bring specific canned/boxed food to donate so families will have a Thanksgiving meal. ASB students set up a donation collection in the multi-purpose room to help organize and separate the food.

Ciampa was given a donation from the Emmaus Christian Fellowship to purchase turkeys. Thanks to their donation, she was able to buy 15 turkeys to add to the Thanksgiving boxes. In addition to the turkey, families received four cans of corn, four cans of green beans, two cans of cranberries, two cans of gravy, two boxes of stuffing, and two boxes of potatoes.

“It is truly an honor to be able to give a complete Thanksgiving dinner to Diamond Valley families who are in need. Their level of gratitude makes us want to continue this tradition year after year!” said Ciampa.

Students donated such a large number of canned food this year. Due to their generosity, Ciampa realized there were around 1,000 cans of food left over, which she gathered and donated to the Homeless Shelter of Hemet.

Thank you Stacy Ciampa, ASB, and students and staff of Diamond Valley for continuing this event!
