where is there for the pledge ready begin I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all please be seated attention all of this going to do change of underwear your team to your right across the street and we will receive a sweet reward the fundraiser and on Wednesday December 13th my favorite 6th grade teacher to say happy holidays and donate your car are you ready for the dbms belly be interested could talk to you the English teacher or mr. back to you Diana the Helen Keller Unified School District is putting it together A New Kind of Science it's called a steam Expo the book of those students will be invited to the cosmic bowling you must have a 4.0 for the semester to be invited and it is going to be tons of fun get those grades up and also have a wonderful Tuesday good morning my name is Kay Mason Frank and I'm here representing the Hemet Woman's Club I'm here at Diamond Valley Middle School today to award certificates and prize money towards the winners of our youth Fighting Conch Hemet Woman's Club is an organization of women in Hemet who do things basically to give back to their Community we particularly to do things in education we help seniors we help constantly helping conservation we do work for friends many many categories where we can give back to our community but the youth test was started three years ago and for the purpose of encouraging students to write we know that it's absolutely critical in your future jobs that you're able to ride well so in the way you get better at writing is to practice so we asked the students in mrs. Lewis class to to write to a prompt that a trash can have women contributed throughout history and we received many really great response as we also have this contest at the high school level 4 at West Valley and weed added Tracy Sher so today I'm here to award the prizes I'm going to start out with poetry we awarded one for lays in poetry and so I'm and award to Leanne storm Leanne gave us a very special poem about women working to overcome gender inequality as I read the poem I had to Rosie the Riveter speaking to other women and telling them we can do it so Leann here is your check for $100 and then I've done that and Leanne's will look her entry will now go on we will send to the district level okay for the essay we have I'm going to start with third place and that goes to town test and Taylor gave us a very well written essay about Audrey Hepburn and showed us how much of that woman did to help others this was a very well research paper and Open the Eyes of all of our churches excellent Taylor I'm happy to present you with a check for dollars along with your certificate make sure I grab shipping place close to Delaney Dow and Delaney presented an interesting take her woman of choice it wasn't the person she wrote about Really Rosie the Riveter who was an icon who represented all the women who went to work during World War II when the men went off to war she did a great job of discussing how millions of women stepped up and help this country and price it very impressive writing Delaney and proud to present you with a check for $50 and your certificate of recognition and then for the first place winner in the essay this is for Noah Lewin Noah presented at so beautifully written and well researched essay about Emma watch this is has had a successful film career became well-educated and actively works in the US as well as internationally and I know that it's his mom is worried that his that maybe someone might think that she had anything to do with it but we very well knew that this was Noah's work okay $3 and then your certificate of recognition no SSA also will go to the state I'm sorry on to the district competition and hopefully on to the state thank you to all the students who participated in the Hemet Woman's Club youth writing contest we're very pleased with what all the samples are all the essays and poems that we received thanks again
