DVMS, The Gem of the Valley! I have been a teacher since 2001 and have taught Social Science courses in grades 7-12 and also have experience as an Educational Counselor. I have worked in a variety of school settings ranging from Inquiry Based instruction to Whole Brain Learning Styles. In 2009, I was honored to be recognized as an "Educator of Excellence" by the Inland Empire Council for Social Studies, Riverside County Office of Education, San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools and Cal State San Bernardino, College of Education. I have had International Baccalaureate training for the course History of the Americas Higher Level. I am actively involved with a variety of humanitarian causes and enjoy incorporating character education into my lessons. It is a great pleasure to be a part of Diamond Valley Middle School as a 7th grade World History teacher. My Educational Background; I have a Bachelors Degree from CSU, Fresno in History with a minor in Ethnic Studies and Masters Degree from Azusa Pacific University in Educational Counseling. My personal background; I am married to an incredible woman named Sandi; who is also in education and I have 3 amazing kids; Katie is 14, Sofia is 13, and Lucas is 11. My family an I love going to antique stores and collecting and browsing for vintage items. I recently started a new hobby of collecting Hot Wheels!
